Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
With a Qualified Heap Vendor, such as G. A. Bove Fuels, you can be sure to stay warm this winter. Every year the federally/state funded Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) assists those income eligible households in paying a portion of their energy bill. HEAP payments will vary based on such factors as how many people reside in the household, how much income is generated by the household and the heating cost in relationship to the household’s income.
Heap also has a component for the replacement or repairing of your heating system.
If your household receives food stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or public assistance, such as Safety Net or Family Assistance, your household probably qualifies for HEAP benefits.
For more information, you can call the HEAP hotline at (800) 342-3009 or visit http://otda.ny.gov/main/programs/heap/
